Every time we hear someone say that solo travel is hard, we wonder why. It is one of the most fun life experiences. The pleasures of running to your own clock (or not running at all), the discovery of what you like and what you don’t… the list is endless.

Table for one, food for two – that’s the hardest part about traveling alone.

It is true! Travel is about experiences, and food is a big part of those experiences. But unless you can binge and then continue to explore the town after, this is something that we don’t have a solution for.

But the travel itself? That’s pretty simple! (You even got us to cart your bags through the airport and everywhere else as you need, so lugging the luggage is sorted!)

For the rest, here are some tips for your first travel:

Make A Plan

It does not matter if you actually stick to the plan. But it is good to have a starting point. Or an ending point. With the endless possibilities and the things, you could perhaps do or not do, and with no travel buddy to push you towards something, plan-less travel can get quite daunting. So, make a plan -perhaps a list of must-see places, or must-do things. And figure out how to get from point A to point B. The misadventures (and memories) are inevitable but have a script.

Book Your Stay

This one is kind of a crucial point. Travel is fun, and so are the misadventure memories. But trust us – it is pretty horrible to be stranded without having a place to crash after all that travel. Figure out where you want to stay, and you might want to research a little more about the rooms and locations. We like to kind of check out the bathrooms as well (clean bathroom rates higher than a comfy bed for us).

Make a Copy of the Documents

This is one of those things that everyone perhaps tells you to, but this is crucial as well. We’d tell you to remember the numbers but let’s be honest, nobody remembers numbers. So, make a copy of all the important documents, and a list of critical numbers, and email it to yourself. And a trusted friend, or someone whose number you remember.

Pack Well

This is an important trip, and just because you don’t have a travel buddy to split the luggage with does not mean you try to pack light. Pack smart but pack what you want. I mean, we are there to carry your luggage – to and from the airport and inside the airport.
